Magik Slider Extension – Magento Community Extension

Posted Jan 04th, 2010 at 10:19 PM and seen 673 times

MagentoMagik Product Slider helps the store owners to showcase their featured products on their home page. Products will glide either horizontally or vertically.

You can control the slide (horizontal/vertical) via admin panel and choose between horizontal or vertical slides. It hardly requires any technical knowledge. All you have to do is set the values once and rest will be done by the extension itself.

Using this extension you can also upload images (banners) and link those to a desired page in the slider rather than showing actual featured products.

If you wish to download Magik Slider extension from Magento Connect please click here Download MagentoMagik Slider Extension.

how to make the image slider autoslide ?
  • Shashank, it seems like your slider is working perfectly on your site (checked your email containing the link). Refresh and you will see it scrolling but don't take your mouse over the scrolling banners. It will stop and becomes manual once mouse is placed over banners or featured products. This is how our extension is setup.

THERE Is a problem when you uninstall this extension that stops the complete admin system from working.

    You get the following error.

Fatal error: Call to a member function setActive() on a non-object in /home3/petestin/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Controller/Action.php on line 82

I need a solution to fix this problem.

    Please help.

  • Thank you Emmanuel for pointing us to the thread. We have fixed the bug which was causing this problem. If you install the newer version of Magik Slider from Magento Connect you can safely uninstall the extension without any problems. Bug related to uninstall is fixed.
  • Hi, I would love to work with your extension, but I'm having some problems getting it up and running. I'm using the image slider, and have placed the slider on a cms page, but the next and previous links are not working. Any advice? Thank you.

Please use Firebug and figure out any conflicting Javascript files. I am sure there are some JS which are conflicting with Magik Slider. Once the conflict is resolved it will work like a charm. Why not upgrade to the latest version via Magento Connect.

Did you get this to work? I uninstalled it and it broke my admin system completely. Now I only get this error after I log into the admin....

Fatal error: Call to a member function setActive() on a non-object in /home3/petestin/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Controller/Action.php on line 82

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Steve
